Dude! I know, his tm is incredible, it's got at least 4 colors, and I don't think these weird battle beast tm's are getting the love they should be from whomever recognizes them (Cobo I think) with Lione, Shuffler, Ramhorn, Twinferno, and now Grot, we've got five of these little guys running around, and they're so cool

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

I love all the rando (but really not that rando) Battle Beast action we got in TR. So cool of Hasbro to homage such a tiny niche corner of Japanese TF mythos. Battle Beasts were/are awesome! I hadn't really considered Lione, Shuffler, and Ramhorn as such, but I will now.![]()
Not sure why i didn't. Kinda obvious.
And I agree, Grotusque is a wonderful premium figure. I think Arcee is good too. A high precedent has been set, and I hope Repugnus can live up to it.
BTW, I totally think Repugnus will be a retool of Twintusque, and I'm ok with that.
what are y'alls thoughts and theories on Repugnus?

Well his tm vehicle is adorable, but the head is ugly as sin, his chin clashes with every figure I own, so I wouldn't really pay extra for it unless it's a great retool; but if it is based off of a terrorcon, I might have to get him, simply b/c: combiner limb, but I have no functioningtorso's that aren't dumb hotspot to use him on, f'ing silverbolt and his crappy cream plastic
As for Arcee, she was instock when I ordered grotesque, but I really didn't need her for anything, since I prefer the t30 version (she's still on display, alongside Nightbird Shadow)

His chin clashes? How so?
And yeah, he's not a great color match for ANYONE. I've only ever slapped his head on Getaway 'cause he's such a neutral Nelly, anybody works in him. I was wondering if they would sculpt a whole new face. But why, Hasbro hates spending money.

D-Maximus_Prime wrote:Grotusque was a personal favorite of the year, and I am stoked to see Repugnus rumored for May. I will get him to complete my Monsterbot trio, who are some weird characters that I really like. I can see him being a Twinesque retool, but I think I would rather him be a Rippersnapper retool, which might be why Rippersnapper is in wave 2 instead of 3 with the other terrorcons so he is released before his retool.
Either way, I'm stoked. And then Repugnus can wield Repugnus as a weapon!

I know I eventually have to get him, but I'm glad I picked up the Black Lion at the time instead..although now I have to buy the rest of the lions. Not sure if I'll do that first or get Rodimus.

He's got the "FansToys squeak"?! I don't own any but I've heard them squeak on YouTube reviewsHellscream9999 wrote:He's a great figure, kinda creaky, but just so smart and fun, but the voltron limbs are so random to find the colors, so, I'd say get the limbs, rodimus is likely to be revised anyways at some point.itscramtastic wrote:That's really good news Hellscream! I think he really looks the part, at least from the front view. And that space Winnebago mode is awesomely awesome. I will need to buy him. Dang it.

Hellscream9999 wrote:Finally broke down and picked up Rodimus on Wednesday. All the stores 'round me seem to have stocked up on wave 1 so, I figured I wouldn't be seeing sg rodimus anytime soon. I'm glad I did, he's just so much fun, and I love the way they integrated him into the rodimus mode, not just folding everything up behind him... I have no real connection or love for rodimus, but his space winnebago mode is just so great, I love it, it's so weird; and I love just how big he is, he's so big and chunky, it makes overlord look anorexic by comparison, like, where did all the mass and chunkitude come from in the budget? His alt mode has to have the worst turning radius ever though.
So all in all, his articulation is exactly as lackluster as I expected it to be, but he's even more fun than I anticpated (i just like carrying around his winnebago mode)

Glad you are liking him! I really like him too, and I will be completely happy with having 2 versions of the mold. Very fun!!

He's great, so much heft to him, it's almost cybertron era sturdiness, almost; had to actually wrestle to untab some parts on him, his cab mechanism is stressfully tight when it gets to where it needs to go. But, great, amazing figure
