Santa Monica, CA - October 30, 2012 - The battle to protect mankind from the evil DECEPTICONS rages on in the TRANSFORMERS PRIME™ video game from Activision Publishing, Inc., a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI). Created for kids and based on the award winning animated television show produced by Hasbro Studios seen in over 170 countries and airing on The Hub television network in the U.S., TRANSFORMERS PRIME allows fans to take on the roles of OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE, ARCEE, AUTOBOT RATCHET and BULKHEAD as they fight through heroic battles against the DECEPTICONS all around the world. Players will engage in brawler-style combat and diverse driving sequences in order to save Earth from the sinister MEGATRON and his new secret weapon, THUNDERWING. TRANSFORMERS PRIME is available now for Nintendo's Wii™ system, and the Nintendo 3DS™and Nintendo DS™ hand-held systems, and will be a day-one launch title for Nintendo's new Wii U™ system launching on November 18th.
"The TRANSFORMERS PRIME television show is a fantastic series and we're excited to bring this new adventure to Nintendo and TRANSFORMERS fans alike," said Kurt Niederloh, Vice President, Activision Publishing."We've worked hand-in-hand with Hasbro and the TV show producers to bring this all-new storyline to life with the spirit and trademark gameplay Nintendo gamers have come to know and love."
"Our fans can now interact with the TRANSFORMERS PRIME universe and all its rich characters in a whole new way," said Mark Blecher, Senior Vice President of Digital Media and Marketing at Hasbro. "Activision has done a great job of capturing the heart and soul of the television show and has created an engaging video game the entire family can enjoy."
Continuing the epic saga, the game centers around an original story set directly within the TRANSFORMERS PRIME universe, allowing gamers not only to play as their favorite AUTOBOT characters, but also cultivate close friendships with Jack, Miko and Raf - the human characters from the show - as TEAM PRIME sets out to protect mankind and eliminate the DECEPTICONS once and for all. For the Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U versions of the game, players can also compete with or against their friends in adrenaline-pumping multiplayer modes that allow fans to choose from 11 different TRANSFORMERS characters from both factions.
TRANSFORMERS PRIME is developed by Now Production (NowPro) for Nintendo's Wii system, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, and by Altron Corporation for Nintendo DS. The game is rated "E10+" (Everyone 10 and older - Fantasy Violence) by the ESRB.

Too bad there won't be a PC release . I don't have any Nintendo systems and I'm not much of a console gamer anyway. In fact, these days I only use my PS3 for watching Amazon Instant Video, and that's only when they require I use something other than a PC to watch HD (which is a lame requirement in my opinion).
Oh well, at least I have WfC and FoC.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I am that which is, which was, and is yet to come.
And you will know my name is MEGATRON when I lay my vengeance upon you!

Baically yes, but its a Transformers game so why wouldn't we promote it's release?
Not to mention new box packaging images and a new trailer. Yes it's a blatant advertisement for a video game ... nothing wrong with that. This entire website is essentially a giant advertisement for the Transformers brand, a brand with the sole purpose of marketing and selling products.

Just because we enjoy and promote transformers in all forms, is not the same as just copy pasting the activison promo sheet they email to everyone.
It's soulless. Maybe I'm wrong here, but it's just not what I've become accustomed to on seibertron. Sorry if you don't feel that way. But keeping the bits about what hasbro's nasdaq code is, their quick bios and the legal disclaimer at the end are just there bcause it looks as if no editing was done to the article.
Compared to the way you guys usually handle the new blurbs, it jut seems odd, like it was rushed or something.
But whatever, not my site, just thought i'd put my two cents in. You do what you have to.

Weapon: Saber Blade
Thunderwing sounds kinda silly.

Dude, press releases get posted here all the time, and have been for several years. This isn't any different.

I'm trying to figure out who the voice is, sounds to me like either Nolan North or Robin Atkin Downes using their deep voices. Or maybe even David Kaye, i dunno

We post every official press release shared with us by Hasbro and its licensed partners. We always have and always will. It's good stuff and it builds upon the good relationships that we have with those companies, something that I feel is very important for when Seibertron.com is invited to private press or fansite events, interview opportunities, etc so that we can share the news and behind-the-scenes pictures and information with all of you who visit this site.
As for the "blurb" at the end of the press release, we like to leave that information in the press release because, well, it's a press release and that's pretty standard from big companies.

Get ready to be letdown and you could've got it a week ago if you looked. No one checks small stores who routinely break street dates anymore it seems.

We got wii and ds versions and are very happy with them. Surprisingly good quality. Voice acting and presentation are superb. If you enjoy the show you will probably enjoy the game.
I obviously care. As for ac, i do not care. This is a transformers site and my interest in transformers cartoons, toys, and games is the reason i am on this site.
The war for cybertron and fall of cybertron games are perhaps more fun overall than the prime game but i like this new offering and am glad for an action game that is family friendly.

gothsaurus wrote:So are the full game and DS versions the same plot and story?... or like the past, are they two completely different games using the same characters?
Haven't made as much progress in ds yet but it seems like it follows the wii version but in an abbreviated way with slideshows instead of full cutscenes in some instances and text instead of voiceovers for communication from other characters during gameplay. Also, wii controls are partly motion based.
aw! that means less Peter Cullen on the DS version. Hmmmmm. Maybe I can rent a Wii somewhere and play the game. I'd hate to buy it just to play a game that people are completing in 2-3 hours.

The ds gameplay reminds me a lot of the ds versions of war for cybertron (they had an autobot game and a decepticon game). Yes, i would say there is less of Peter Cullen's voice but it still has a decent amount of it. These are some of the most fun ds games i've played. Still stuck on wfc. The ds version has spots that are more challenging than the home consoles.

Though the Wii version has ALL of the voice cast acting.
