SS87 would require Hasbro to incorporate TV shows into the line, at which point I would ask why they would need to do specific year branding anymore? Change the sub brand to Studio Series Animated and open it up to all cartoons. I'd personally love some updated Deluxe Predacons from RID.

Isn't that what all these Generations lines are for?
They can totally make a sub line for Animation accurate repaints, but extending Studio series beyond the 1986 movie to include tv shows seems disingenuous at best.
I mean, how long before Legacy or whatever follows gives us a CC Energon Optimus Prime. It's the only one missing from the Unicorn Trilogy now and the trailer and Prime units definitely require the extra CC budget.

I wouldn't put any stock in HasLab rumors at all, Hasbro keeps those very closely guarded, only a select few are aware of them. Up until RID Prime was announced the majority of people were sure it was going to be Primus. The only reason we get most of the leaks we usually get is thanks to store computers and stuff being snuck out of the factories.

The only way Energon Prime is a Haslab is if they toss in an Omega Supreme he can combine with. Otherwise, it's completely implausible and unnecessary for Energon Prime to be the Haslab. Wing Saber is neither complex enough nor large enough to need anything more than a Leader class figure.

The trailer is an empty box, with a couple panel divisions. Its 10 times simpler than Armada Prime’s trailer. And the drones really don’t do much other than having hands, and only 2 of them have actual humanoid hands. Drill and submarine don’t. And the conversions were simple then and should be simple now.
The cab is super simple. Armada was much more complex than what the Energon cab needs to do.
There is no secondary robot mode or complex transformation involved there. All they need to do is add wrists, waist and ankle tilts. All he really needs to do to combine with the drones is fold up his feet and hands and be able to t-pose.
I just don’t see where HasLab budget is necessary when they already gave us the much more complex Armada Prime as a Commander.

Are we talking about the same Energon Prime because that doesn't sound like him at all. The transformation for the original figure was less complex than G1 prime and only slightly more articulated and the cartoon is no different. The drones just slip over his arms and legs, there's nothing particularly complex about them, and the trailer is just a box with doors on it, it doesn't do anything on its own. Even maxing out the Commander class budget would still produce a less impressive figure than Armada Prime that's better than the original. Whoever started that rumor has a screw loose.

Agreed.

I dunno.
In Earthrise, Optimus was boosted from voyager to leader just because of an included Tupperware.

For '26 being a relatively big anniversary year, it's puzzling what Hastak will do, especially considering my thoughts above.
Sowndwave76 wrote:So does anyone else think SS86 is going to end with the end of the 40th anniversary year?
Imo, with the releases we know about for next year, and despite what's been said about "any character seen in the movie could be re-done in this subline", there's almost no one left who hasn't been made/released recently... Seems like the only good option is new molds. But my thoughts on those possibilities still seem unlikely.
Would I like a Leader class Cyclonus and Scourge/Sweep? And Voyager class Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr, and Arcee? Most definitely.
But I'll be surprised if any of those actually happen.

It's been loosely talked about, but I have a feeling post-SS86 will be an "Animation" subline, which then opens this up to every series/universe.
SS86 Bee is coming out this year in the same SS "A Level" assortment as the TF One Optimus that just leaked, based off store listings we've had for a hot minute.Till-all-R1 wrote:I just hope that it lasts long enough to get a reissue of VW Bumble Bee! Is that too much to ask?
Rodimus Prime wrote:IMO the remainder of the SS86 line is fairly simple to predict. Check the cast of the movie, including ALL characters, and see who's been made and who hasn't. Take those who we don't have a release/rumor yet, and put them all into waves according to what size they will be. Should tell us the minimum remainder length of the line. Repacks are of course always possible.

Don't forget "Concept Art" is a subline/offshoot/banner within Studio Series. Just wait until they announce the 2027 Commander Class is the Triplechanger Rails who goes from steam train to bullet train to giant snake monster.![]()
