If Grimlock and Shockwave are using their most recent molds that means it's the SS86 Leader Grimlock mold and the Siege Leader Shockwave mold, then why is there such a price difference? Are the swords with Grimlock toy or comic-accurate? I'm a little disappointed that's going to be the way to get the swords. When I first saw these I thought they were repainted RED figures.

But which mold would we be getting? Most likely the SS86 version? What about ER Megatron with a black helmet?Squawk'n'talk wrote:These all look SO good.
I'm down for more comic versions.
Ratchet with a red head would be near the top of my wishlist.
No. Stop asking about SS86 Prime. It hasn't been seen yet.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Is that SS86 Optimus Prime's head that comes with Shockwave?

I especially like this one. (Is the cable a wire, or was a support just very well-edited out?) I'm so glad modern Transformers promotional photography is taken so much more seriously. The reveal photos for every wave since Legacy started have done so much to put life into the figures with these little dioramas and landscapes. A very welcome and appreciated custom after years of basic poses and obvious mistransformations.
Shockwave and Grimlock both look really cool, too. I am satisfied with the original SS86 Grimmy, but my G1 Decepticon shelf does happen to be missing a Shockwave...

We're getting another leader Shockwave?Emerje wrote:Incidentally I was just thinking there's always a chance that the upcoming Leader Shockwave my also be in comic colors.

I said earlier that I wanted a voyager Grimlock due to them being the same size, but now I'm changing my mind, I'd rather have a bigger Shockwave. Prime and Megatron have been made voyagers, so Shockwave should be either a very tall voyager or a short leader. He's a bit bigger than both of them.
I thought that too. I would love to have that as well, mouth or not. Purple Soundwave FTW, despite IDW's attempts to alter history.william-james88 wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:We're getting another leader Shockwave?Emerje wrote:Incidentally I was just thinking there's always a chance that the upcoming Leader Shockwave my also be in comic colors.

I dont know about Leader Shockwave but there is a chance Emerje meant Soundwave

Seems this is his first Transformers piece. Looking forward to seeing what else he comes up with in the future. He did the comic Shockwave and Grimlock photos, too. https://www.instagram.com/p/C3B8OpCMsq1/?img_index=1

WFC (Siege) Shockwave was IIRC $40 or $45 in 2019? Compared with the new Comic Book release in 2024. Cost of Materials increase (5 years later), plus instead of the extra "bits" that made Siege Shockwave a leader, you get a stand with Optimus Primes Head, and Premium Packaging. Whether you can justify the $40.00 cost in 2024 or not, is for each person to decide.
SS86 Grimlock was IIRC $50 in 2021. Compared with the new Comic Book Release in 2024. Cost of Materials increase (3 years later). Instead of a small Wheelie static figure, you get 2 extra swords, a crown, and premium Packaging. Whether you can justify the $60.00 cost in 2024 or not, is for each person to decide.
Also, while the G2 SS86 Tiger stripe deco may be cool for some, it was $55 just a few months ago (without Wheelie), THIS comic book release comes with 2 extras Swords, a crown and premium packaging for only $5 more doesn't seem so bad.
I was never a fan of comic book decos, so I'm passing on these, but I'm happy for those that want them.
