Bloodborne is easy. I think I have maybe 3 or 4 bosses left (one of them being an optional end boss), and I've only died in the game once. And it was on purpose, so I could get those bag guys to take me to the Unseen Village, or whatever that place is called.
Dark Souls, though, the first one, I can't even get past the third boss. **** those gargoyle things.
Not getting defensive or anything, but...
The OP asked what is "the hardest game
YOU ever played?" For
me, on the
PS4, that's Bloodborne. In my history of gaming, it's that last mission in Ace Combat 5.
TBH, I've never played any of the prior Souls games before--was never into these kind of games. I only got Bloodborne because it was bundled with my PS4, and was cheaper than getting a standalone.
Now, as compared to many other RPGs that are NOT from the Souls franchise, the difficulty was quite noticeable.
And yes, it's not "hair pulling-ly" difficult as long as you take the time to level up and practice dodging. And like you, I only died a maximum of once or twice (fighting the werewolf in the sickroom with your bare hands couldn't have had any other outcome, and the second time was purposely rushing into the Cleric Beast fight so I can get insight to level up). As soon as I started leveling up, I managed to not just survive but actually thrive. As long as I ept my levels high enough in a given area, it's quite manageable.
All in all, it's more the reputation of it that makes it seem harder than it should be. I said as much in those Game Progress posts I made. The whole fricking internet keeps telling you how hard the game is, and eventually, you just start to believe it. Even at level 92, I'm still hesitant to take on Vicar Amelia, largely due to everyone in the game forums crying over how they got their ass whooped. Thing is, I killed the Blood-starved Beast with almost no effort. Black-Church Garb, fire-paper on a Kirkhammer, dodged a lot, and it went down just like that.
You know what they say about making a statement enough times....

That's the first Souls game, isn't it? Glad I never bought that one, or it'll make a very expensive tea coaster on my desk.
