[FAQ] [Calculator] [Levels] [Weapons] [Armor] [Alt-modes] [Tactics]
Your Rank tech spec determines the quality of armour available to you, while your Strength determines the amount of armour you can have installed at once. You can install 1 ton of armour per point of Strength you have; note that you therefore need at least 1 point of Strength before you can install any armour at all.

When you upgrade your armor, you can either add or remove tons of the same type of armor, or replace your current armor with a different type.
Armor has a purchase cost, an installation cost and an installation time. When you add armor, you buy the tons (purchase cost) and then install them (installation cost & time). To remove armor, you pay only the installation cost. If you change to a different type of armor, your existing armor will be automatically removed (installation cost & time) before the new armor is bought and installed. It is generally more efficient to reset the character if you want to change their armor type.
