The Bumblebee looks pretty cool, but not a lot better than the Activator. And if it's $20, I probably wouldn't pay that for him and the accessory. Course that's just first impression from one early pic, might want to see more.

The gold Grimy is cool, too, but I wouldn't want him unless they make gold versions of Swoop and Snarl too.

BB on the other hand, I think the Hidro pack is very cool. And seemingly makes the figure a Voyager judging by the price, unlike Prowls armor.
Though it looks like BB is not the deluxe version but rather an Activator sized one.
Which would probably mean this thing should be at most 15.99 not Voyager priced.
I'm guessing there will be a story connection to this in show. BB needs to go into Lake Michigan to find a piece of the Allspark or something, so he gets this thing built for him, by someone.

Welcome, friend. That gold Grimlock is the most beautiful figure i have seen in a while. I promised myself I wasnt going to buy a repaint of a figure I already have in this line like I continuosly did in Cybertron, but I cant help it. But to bumblebee's new accessory: WTF.

dont care much for the submarine thingy.

Swiftpaw wrote:Don't know if I will -get- it, but seeing that Hydrodrive BB is more than just a third repaint restores some of my faith in Hasbro. A little. It's like a supersized Actionmaster or something.
Um, the Bumblebee can transform, he's got the kibble to prove it.

Now this what Hasbro been should be doin with old mold or characters...and that 2 give then accessories so they will have a better play value like with the sucky power rangers and TMNT toys.

Ok, then riddle me this, champ: what figure is that BB a repaint of?

Golfire Grimlock looks like something out of a good dream, so me thinks' I'll be picking him up.
I'll prolly buy Scuba Steve too, but I'll wait for it to go on sale.

El Duque wrote:Pass on the Grimlock repaint, but I really like the new BB. My only gripe would be that as a stand alone figure BB looks great, but with this most likely being Voyager size he will be even more out of scale than he was before. Plus it's yet another BB, I know he is a popular character and all, but I'm just getting "BB'd out". I did go ahead and preorder him though.
Actually, I believe the point of this figure is that it is MORE in scale with the other Autobots in the line, since this BB is meant to be smaller that the original BB. It is the whopping huge accessory that makes this a Voyager price point.
I'll be getting him just because he'll fit in better than the original Animated BB toy with his balloon head
But I really like the fact that they have him a water related accessory. It seems like a reference to the much overlooked fact that G1 Bumblebee's tech specs said something about him being equipped for underwater missions.

figure in his Cybertronian mode from G1....of course *that* dream was instantly smashed upon remembering/realizing what I was looking at.
Further reasons for me to stay away from the Animated line once I get Blurr.
Hydrodrive Bumblebee? PLEASE don't tell me they're resorting to the themed-snap-on-armor gimmick that has been so heavily overdone in the various Batman and TMNT lines.....
I can see it now: "New! Optimus Prime with Arctic Toboggan Armor! Bumblebee with Glow-in-the-Dark Electro Armor!
They are skirting a thin line here, let's hope they stay on the "cool" side.

Now they need to take that mold and repaint/retool it into Cliffjumper... and WASP (pre-Insecticonization)....

Hmmmm, that's tricky. Let me think... maybe the bastard lovechild of Goldbug and Seawing?

If BB is a static figure just with the sub, I'll probably pass, but if it is a new fig with a new transform especially with a better scale to the other figs, I'm all over it.

What make this better then the batman, Power Posers, and TMNT lines is that the acturally TF figure itself is still fun 2 transform, with or without the accessories.
I mean it quadruple the toy play value if you really think about it by giving them extra armor to attrach to them in vehicle and bot mode.
Prime been armoring up for years. Hell, I still shock that Animated Prime dont have a "real" trailer to combine or do sumthing with but i glad the other bots like Prowl and BB are now getting that same treatment

The sub can hold BB in car mode. So unless they're packaging a static BB and a toy car... your fears are groundless.
