While discount retail findings are generally not news-worthy, many collectors had difficulty finding these toys upon release late last year, especially so with Arcee. Now they're available again for those in regions with an Ollie's location, and at a fantastic price too!
Be sure to let others around you know if you see these toys by using our Toy Sightings Forum or our Transformers Toy Sightings listings. To assist with use of the latter, Ollie's has been added as a chain to the Sightings store locator. Ollie's Bargain Outlet store locations may be added by clicking this link, and you can find information on locations to add near you using Ollie's store locator. All new location listings must be approved by a site administrator such as yours truly, so please input any address information as cleanly and accurately as possible to speed up that process.
Good luck out there to anyone looking to hunt for these popular Transformers over the upcoming weekend, and be sure to help out your fellow collectors as well if you can!

Good luck to all you Easterlings.
Edit: and no Illinois or Wisconsin.

Still works out cheaper with gas hovering at $2 a gallon

Indeed, I honestly can't believe that the 2 pack or legends arcee(?) are still in stock with all the belly achin' that went on 'round here.

And since I just happen to work 1 mile north of one, I am so, SOOOOO happy that I remained patient and never caved in to inflated online prices! (Though I panicked and spent $50 on ebay for Takara's Arcee, but that's neither here nor there)JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Rated X wrote:BBTS still has them in stock as a pair for $31.99 which would be about walmarts price on current deluxes. And besides, who can stop at just one? This almost-3-decades-overdue toy has a LOT of potential redecos that even the club will never tackle, and AFAIC Hasbro's initial announcement of it was an explicit promise that I'd be able to buy a crapload of them cheap; now, after a year of searching every TJMarshaxx, Tuesday Morning, and Kmart (not fair to lump them in with the other 3, but their Brainstorm got my hopes up) that promise has been fulfilled. What's one more year when I'd already waited 28?
Coincidentally, I'd only ever started going into Ollie's about this time last year. Their selection of boys' toys always kinda' sucked, except for that occasional diamond in the rough, like the Avengers helicarrier for $20 and some Joe: Retaliation
figures I've never seen elsewhere. Their TF selection had been borderline non-existent until they got AofE Power Attackers the same time as Five Below (and here I was shocked when the newest 5B got some Generations AofE deluxes). Until now, I'd honestly bought more girls' toys from Ollies, thanks to their huge stock of the smaller Winx club figures, though only the 6 common ones (hey, with the Jem movie bombin', they might be the closest we ever get to Jem figs scaled to interact with Joes).
My Ollies also had Windblade, Jhiaxus, Armadascream, Rattrap, Tankor, Scoop, Crosscut, and the Minicon trio, for the record.

Yes, because Hasbro gets to dictate what stores buy which products, and at what quantities.
This always happens with product slated at the end of a calendar year. Big box stores largely pass or diminish their orders due to saturated shelves, and the product finds its way to whatever discount retailers want it.

Im not sure I consider driving around looking for plastic toys the same adrenalin rush as facing a lion head on, blowing his brains out, and hanging his head on the wall.
Kind of reminds me of those people who spend 2 dollars in gas driving to a cheaper gas station where gas is 3 cents cheaper a gallon. And that doesn't even factor in the wear and tear on your vehicle.

Not at those prices. This is the cheapest online: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail
And that is double what these are going for.

Then, add shipping, $ conversion rate, and a sureshot custom fee, and you end up paying double or even triple the base BBTS price.
Joy.

To Canada, shipping is not too bad. However...
As I said, it was fun 4 years ago when 1$CAN was equal to 1$US. Now, it's back to 70¢US for 1$CAN. Meaning we pay american stuff 30% more. Not only that, there's custom fees. BBTS don't charge import fees so it's a ticking bomb. Meaning if custom fees hit, we have to pay 15% more in taxes, plus an additional 10$ in fees.

Your reply tells me you are not following what the guy was saying initially or what we are talking about in the thread right now. But thats fine, theres lots going on. We are talking about the prices at Ollies. The thing here is that while these figures never came to Canada, they are now available at HALF PRICE at the Ollies outlet. So the guy above is asking for people to ship it to them. Yes they are available online as I pointed out, but at double the Ollies price (since Ollies is half price the retail price). So if somone gets them for him from Ollies, he will be saving at least 20$ cdn overall than from buying both figures at BBTS. That is what this whole discussion has been about.
Anyways... As I pointed out, a similar deal is currently on in Canada at out own discount outlets, such as Giant Tiger. Its last year's generations figures, at cheaper than retail, but of course it doesnt have Arcee or Chromia:

While I am here in this thread, I have a question. Who is Venin? I am referring to Acid Storm's targetmaster. Was he anywhere in the fiction? Or a brand new character with no fiction yet?
Posted by -Kanrabat- on November 7th, 2015 @ 7:38pm CST
Will, can you buy it for me? I'll pay you back or trade you something.
Posted by Sabrblade on November 7th, 2015 @ 7:55pm CST
According to designer Joe Kyde, Venin was originally going to be in the colors of Venom, the G1 Deluxe Insecticon, back when the Acid Storm toy was originally going to be Thundercracker. However, when it was decided by Hasbro to change the Thundercracker release into Acid Storm, the colors of his Targetmaster partner were also changed presumably to better match with Acid Storm's colors. The name itself is the French word for "venom", presumably used due to Hasbro being unable to Trademark the name "Venom".william-james88 wrote:While I am here in this thread, I have a question. So does this make Venin be Venom? Well, that might have been the original intent, but the end result has both a different name and none of the same colors as Venom so there's room for him to be his own guy if one wanted him to be.
Plus, one of TakaraTomy's Legends manga had Generations Venin and the Japanese AOE campaign Micron Buzz Saw both make an appearance... as Waspinator's sons (or at least, as the sons of that particular version of Waspinator, the one who lives in the Legends Universe). And that's currently the only fiction we have for the guy, so... yeah.

Wow so much drama over 20 bucks. I could understand the rage if these were takara figures, but there just hasbro bottom of the line retail figures. Just order em online and at bbts and be done with it. All these complaints about shipping seem a bit extreme in my opinion. Dont Canadians get free government healthcare ? Thats 1000 bucks saved that I have to spend every year on health insurance. Take some of that money saved and treat yourself to a few online purchases. Its a proper G1 Arcee that took 30 years to become a reality....treat yourself, you deserve it.

Yeah, sure, we pay around 40% of IRS taxes and sales taxes are at 15%... Also, we have to pay around 300$ for the provincial medication insurance gorvernment program yearly. I just cant imagine what that hospital visit and medication would have cost me if I was living in the USA!

Well, they probably would've seen you immediately - and you could've gone to an urgent care, or a similar walk-in clinic, you wouldn't have to go straight to a hospital, and insurance probably would've picked up the bills - not the right person to answer this, but that seems to be general idea...

Ironhidensh wrote:They still pay for healthcare, just in the form of super high taxes. Nothing is free.
Thats totally true. However, I find a lot of comfort in knowing that I am immediately reaping from the taxes I pay. Also (and this is where we truly win at saving costs) since the government handles the medicair/insurance for every citizen, it has a monopoly in terms of barganing power. Unlike the US which has insurance split between a bunch of small firms, canada can better regulate the cost of medication. So pretty much, you have one body buying medication for 32 million people. Thats a client you want to keep happy, that keeps prices of medication super super low in comparison to the states and that is the main point in how canada can get more for the same amount as whatever the average insurance price is in the states.

Less important for Ironhide as he has some reason to be a pick up where as due to naming issues the only plain pick up that looked like Trailbreaker wasn't sold as one (the Spychanger one is instead sold as Ironhide).
