Dunno pal? but hoping when the vids & pics start rolling in that we'll get our first look at the Menasor toy.

Yep, if Hasbro isn't there then the toys wont be either. The poster seems to be advertising Cartoon Network products more than anything, there's even a matching Powerpuff Girls poster opposite it, both with big CN logos on them.

The only reason that I've been searching for these Tiny Titans guys is the fact that they brought back some G1 classics. I brushed this off the first time I saw it, but after looking closer and seeing Perceptor, I was sold. I spent... and hour at the store feeling all of the bags, but I've been successful and have gotten: Perceptor, Jazz, Prince Starscream, Windblade, Blaster, Galvatron, and Devastator. You can tell that I only got the ones that are currently known in the IDW comics, and not RID. I also was able to get a card of Inferno and Kickback because some fragging person slit the bags and left them behind.
I honestly hope that whoever did that, at least knows who they got, and not some little kid who has no respect for the meaning behind G1. If I spend hours feeling up the bags (and yes, I was feeling between their legs to try and find Prince Starscream's cape) then they should not be able to do what they did to cheat the rules of this twisted game.
I hate blind bags...

I get that. But then I remember my favourite group of Decepticons were the Predacons, all ruthless beastial members of the faction which showed why it was so feared. And this beast theme is kept with RID. In any case, get warrior Fracture when you have a chance, he isnt beast themed and is a great Decepticon toy

Me too. There are some new ones for the Lego Batman movie and some minifigures are awesome. But if there is no way of knowing what I am getting, then there is no way I am paying $5 everytime.

On another note I never thought a 5min review of such a simple toy could be so drawn out. Though it could just be that the reviewers sarcasm is annoying to me.

now....whether like William James said that it's just random merch or already existing merch? is hard to determine from this pic.

I can tell you what it is, its die cast cars, thats what that company does. These arent from hasbro but instead from a licensed toy company that makes non transforming toys:
Those characters are non transforming figures.

RAR wrote:That makes me think less of both Hasbro and of the character both - as I thought for some desperate moment they'd done something "Original" and made a new Character flier Autobot. and not just looked at a Character list from the 1980's and thought "Right which box do we need to tick"
That is the same attitude that made me loose all interest in Gi Joe.
Not necessarily - Stormshot shares nothing in common with Jetfire/Skyfire other than being an Autobot that has a jet mode and has white in their colour scheme - and there's certainly no shortage of those in the G1 Autobot ranks - and this simply seems to be a case of them using the name and not making it a new version of the character. This happens a lot - RiD Strongarm not being a new version of Energon Strongarm, for instance. And Jetfire from Animated really not being a new version of G1 Jetfire (or any other Jetfire) either. And don't even try and tell me Armada Wheeljack is just Armada's version of G1 Wheeljack.
Just because they share a name with a character from G1 or another previous series doesn't mean it's meant to be a new iteration of the character. It can be a bit confusing and borderline in certain cases, but same name does not immediately equal same character. In fact in a lot of cases, it's likely just "well we have that name already, why not use that instead of applying for a trademark for a new name?"

I would be less irritated by Stormshot being a Skyblast homage than a Skyfire one.
I guess I am disappointed as for a moment I saw in that wave a glimmer of the idea that RID doesn't need to be just the toyline of infinite Bumblebees.
I guess there is something in my personality that just can't understand the mind set change that happened over that period that sometime around the later 1980's and early 1990's the established wisdom suddenly became that we have to be sold the same product over and over in different ways for ever.
Not that I dislike Starscream - but there is a part of me that has to wonder - would it really make the sun go cold if they used someone else as that template like Skyquake or Sunstorm say ?
Does Arcee "have" to be the go too token Female - (thank goodness for Strongarm - even if she is a name slapped sex swap on some level).
I just think this desire to endlessly repeat the past limits story telling and character development.
lets take Bumblebee now - lets fast forward to the 2020's and imagine another cartoon exists that Bumblebee is in but he's now an established leadership role one in no contention - like how Animated allowed Magnus to be in charge.
Also if we must revisit the past at least with the large cast in the past different ideas could be explored by that diverse and huge cast (same was true of Gi Joe to some extent) as you always had an Autobot that could be used to tell any given story.
They did that a lot in Season two of the original cartoon.
I'd like to see a show on Earth perhaps set in a time when the Autobots had been here for some time and in the open (sort of like how Energon open up) and we get a diverse cast of characters that rotate around a changing core - not a set core like in RID.
Perhaps RID's "Miniseries" idea is one that can be expanded on - and so they can hire a voice artist for 6 episodes not a whole run and tell as story that revolves around a particular set of individuals and then another story about others - and so on.
RID's never changing core cast is a bit boring to me it gets the odd addition sure like Drift or Windblade - but it's less often that the existing ones disappear for a while (though I think they do a bit).
RID did dip a toe in the water with this idea with making some of the Minicons central to the story - so that is a good positive example at least.

No see, what I was trying to say is... Stormshot isn't a homage to Skyfire. In the same way Armada Wheeljack isn't a homage to G1 Wheeljack, and RiD (2001) Grimlock isn't a homage to G1 Grimlock. All three of these are completely original characters and not new iterations of the G1 character they share their names with.

Ah, he was talking about Energon, nvm. Nevertheless, Hasbro reuses names all the time, especially if it's for the sake of keeping them. So expect some more Unicron Trilogy-style reuses for RiD 2015 (even if they end up not clearing legal).

But the name Skyfire was applied to this character in the same way Bonecrusher or Devastator was applied to the 2007 Movie characters. I'm not sure how clearer I can say that he's not meant to be a new iteration of the characters who previously held that name.
... especially when Skyfire was his pre-production name.
Not sure how you got to Jazz but yeah, I'd love a legion of him too - he's a great design honestly. Wish he'd come back

Hasbro Transformers RID
Combiner Force Soundwave
Robot in Disguise is enter a new Chapter and Sonundwave is about to show up. This Soundwave design is kind of mix between series TF Prime and Video game War for Cybertron. A TFP head with a WFC body.
This warrior class Soundwave is really good, outstanding from the whole RID toy line. It just give you a feeling that TF Prime series is back!
Transformation is pretty details in his class. The way he flip up is quite new and every parts is lock up nicely and clean. Also thanks to the transformation Soundwave have a decent posing ability.
Overall, RID Soundwave shows that he properly the best figure in the whole series and highly recommend to every TF fans even you not enjoy the RID series.

"Activator" now there is a term they've used before on multiple lines - just like they over used 'Titan' too.
I dislike that they do that it's just another layer of added confusion for new collectors who start with a current line and then work backwards to the previous ones.

It would be nice if Hasbro put in that little extra effort or made a gift set of something so they can do things like the other blue and sandy deco characters they've missed and maybe if they are really feeling generous make a new chest for Legion Bisk so he can be turned into a little Thermidor.
I'm a little concerned that the line might end before the chance of a Bisk and Ratchet Warrior Repack is even raised.
If I see no listings of future wave packing show them then I will jump on an ebay or Amazon listing or see if any of the online retailers have any left same with scatter spike - even if I would have liked her more with a new head the pair is a pair worth completing.
I really wish Hasbro would show some imagination with their flanker sub-brands though it's so tedious to get (insert sub-title here) Bumblebee or Sideswipe so much. there are some of these gimics that would be nice with a Decepticon.
I would have appreciated it if they'd done what they did with CrazyBolt (still can't find him) and Overload and put random Decepticons in their sublines. Especially that digger one. Groundpounder/Groundshaker ground-whatever he's called would benefit from a bigger toy.
Activators Springload would likely work too.
I'd like more of the RID Decepticons if for no other reason than that they are NEW CHARACTERS !!!

Out of curiosity which Decepticon do you folks think really seem to be a noticeable lack so far ?

And I of course get why they did since it's the same character, and I do like the head design... but my god, it is so unfitting. TFP Soundwave's head design is made specifically for a much more slender and angular aesthetic like, well, TFP Soundwave; it doesn't work on something so blocky and bulky.
I don't mean to sound geewunner-ish but the design would have benefited so much from having a head design much more similar to G1 Soundwave's. This is just too jarring a contrast for me.

That's more or less what I did. Soundwave looks like he's been lifting weights to me, so I don't think the head is necessarily out of place. The chest sticks out too much on the bottom, but nothing a hunch over can't fix......I think. Prime Soundwave is hunched his damn self anyway.

I'm surprised how much Alpha Bravo worked actually; despite being a simple redeco the application, balance and difference in colours compared to Vortex helped achieve a very different visual iconography. In my opinion he's one of the best redecoes in Transformers history. Also helps that when he got characterisation he's the best Aerialbot ever and leagues ahead of most combiner team components
All that aside... yeah, I must agree entirely. While it does make perfect sense to re-use the same characters in different iterations so as to be recognisable, it does make me sad when we get so few new characters due to that - especially when a strong point of this franchise is, in my opinion, a huge backlog of different characters that are usually different and unique in some way. It excites me when that can be added to and RiD 2015 is the first time in almost a decade it's been done on such a wide scale - I can't recall a single Decepticon in the series that wasn't a new original character until Soundwave and Starscream showed up.
Which is also why it's almost a shame for me that we seem to be looping back around into new versions of old characters again. I mean I love Soundwave and Bludgeon and Cyclonus as much as the next guy but RiD had a really cool thing going with mostly original characters for a while and it's a shame to see it go.
It's also very aggravating because it is once again a change in pace for the continuity - TFP was, in large part, going for a new take on everything that had gone before. Taking concepts from every past series and merging them into one ultimate thing a bit like DC and Marvel do with their multiple reboots. ... except good. Okay, cool. I'm on board with this. But then RiD 2015 came along and suddenly it's a completely different tone and most characters are original? I'm fine with that, but making it a continuation of a series in stark contrast to that makes me a bit hesitant to deal with the idea and feel the two universes are one and the same. And then just as I'm getting used to it, they bring in Starscream and Soundwave and apparently a bunch of other old character and I'm just... this is cool but can you just decide what you're doing already? I like both, really, but this constant back and forth is getting really annoying and I have no clue what you want to do. Pick one and roll with it for the whole continuity, then if you want to do the other one start a new continuity. It's not hard, you done it all the time before... just please have some consistency here.
... blah. Sorry I launched into that rant there, once you get me going you just can't stop me.

Megatronus was not new, and Scorponok is not original. Neither is Kickback
