I hear you. But frankly, that's not too surprising a price. Takara figures tend to be more expensive in the first place, then you can usually double it for e-Hobby exclusives. I'm just happy this isn't a figure I'd have felt a need for. (Only e-Hobby exclusive I ever felt I had to have was Orion Pax.)

Have to agree with the above. I also ordered one, thanks for front-paging this news.

Do we know how long the preorder lasts? Even though this is a great price, I might wait a little bit before deciding to order him.

You should preorder now before they sell out. They don't charge you anything until it's in stock anyway, and you can always cancel anytime before it comes in-stock.

I think I'll have decided by Friday or Saturday, y'reckon they'll still be in stock? I hope so considering the pre-order just went up.

The point is, why risk it?
Just place the order now. HLJ doesn't require pre-payment, and you can always cancel the order if you decide you don't want it.

Thanks guys! Now I feel a bit safer about placing my order and suddenly on a whim wanting to cancel it (seriously he looks amazing, only thing keeping me on edge was the Takara price tag)

Not sure hlj will carry him. BBTS most probably as this is a ehobby exclusive.
Moosey, the f#ck of a hobby we have is indeed expensive. You need to ask yourself if this item is really worth your effort. Once you get over that try these following steps.
I assume you have a PayPal account?
Try inquiring at BigInJapan. Create an account with them.
Ask them if they would/could get this for you.
Proxies usually require immediate payment
You will have to also pony up for their "proxy" fee
Pay the shipping and maybe pay the taxes once delivered to your address.

HLJ has the preorder up. First. Before BBTS and other retailers. That almost never happens unless they know they're getting the product.

Apparently so... just look at the title of the thread and/or the news post.

...doesn't strike me as the best of signs for those who were hoping for one. Perhaps Takara will just be releasing the same Defensor as Hasbro, after all?

You forget, TakaraTomy often (well, almost always), uses Hasbro figures as placeholders.

It depends on what you picked. EMS can be upwards of 25$ but SAL can be 10$

Devastator Hasbro ( ETA I read in a website in Asia that target date is September 2015....take this at a grain of salt)
Philippines (Hasbro Menasor and Defensor April 18 2015)confirmed inthe Combiner War thread
So (confirmed)barring delays
Megatron is at the end of May 2015
Superion is at the end of June 2015
Menasor is at the end of August 2015
Speculation:
Defensor/Guardian might be at the end of October 2015
Devastar more likely at the end of December 2015 (to give collectors time to recharge their wallets (?)).

On the other hand I spent $40 on a Scourge/Black Prime that turns into a pen so this doesn't seem so bad.

I'm gonna geek out here.
In the Masterforce series a newspaper states that Decepticons have attacked on one page and Destrons attack on the other. The headline is in Latin script. I'd say that this is absolutely correct on Ehobby's behalf. The difference is (drumroll) canonical.
And I want this toy.

This is the first time we've seen Unite Warriors packaging isn't it? I imagine we'll see the combiners in similar boxes. It's pretty great looking. Let's see if those boxes say both Cybertrons and Autobots on them and what they do with the individual bot names.

Given the past trend of Legends, they'll give the Japanese name in katakana, and the US name in Latin script. For the different names between US and Japan, it should look something like this:
ファイアボルト (Firebolt)
Fireflight
スリング (Sling)
Slingshot
エアライダー (Air Rider)
Air Raid
ドラッグストライプ (Drag Stripe)
Drag Strip

Actually, I bet since this is E-Hobby that this packaging will differ from "Warriors Unite" packaging. It's strikingly familiar with their previous batch, TF Cloud.Emerje wrote:This is the first time we've seen Unite Warriors packaging isn't it? I imagine we'll see the combiners in similar boxes. I wonder if they'll be that exact or if they'll go with Hasbro's new names. I'm thinking they'll stick with the originals, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, but this is supplementing an existing retail line, when they've done that in the past they've tried to use similar packaging. The combiners will probably have window boxes, but I think the overall design will be the same.

Not good or bad, just is.
I'm down for this figure, and have a preorder with HLJ. The gold bothers me in the context of traditional Scourge/Nemesis decos, but not enough to motivate me to pass.
Also, Motormaster is one of my favorite molds from Combiner Wars. So I'm happy to own a black Prime version (still haven't gotten regular Prime yet).

I know. Not Black Convoy'ing up the actual Energon/Superlink Prime was such a wasted opportunity.Seibertron wrote:I'm looking forward to it. Would live to see the real grand convoy done as grand scourge instead of the little pla kit.
Good. Don't.megatronus wrote:So I'm happy to own a black Prime version (still haven't gotten regular Prime yet).
I have no issues with the mold (flaws and all) but the lack of paint apps and laaaazzzy Autobot stickers on the shoulders (Y U NO TAMPO?) left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Though Reprolabels did a pretty good job of remedying his issues.

Of course it's bigger than him, it was originally made for a bigger figure:
Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Beast Hunter Optimus Prime Gallery
Even the smaller version ended up for a bigger-than-Voyager figure:
Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Beast Tracker Optimus Prime Gallery
And in case you were wondering, it does resemble an actual shape of knife: a meat cleaver.

Which is why this toy is just so damn awesome. I love when weapons/accessories get swapped from different molds. I wish they did more of that to help differentiate mold usage.

That actually make me wonder: are the molds for the weapons completely separate from the main figure? In other words: when the weapons are cast, are there any other parts cast with it? Seems counterproductive, yet for exchanging it's perfect. I mean, look at:
- The MechTech weapons
- The Simplified Beast Hunter weapons being used for Movie Advanced
- The Weapon Giveaway promotions
With that, TakaraTomy is more able to do so for some reason...
